The initiatives will develop technologies to protect military communications and enhance the security of strategic GEO satellites against increasingly sophisticated threats.

Madrid, August 18 – Integrasys, a company specializing in satellite communications and network solutions, has been awarded two defense research and development projects in Luxembourg with a combined value of €2.89 million. The company will lead one of the projects and participate as the technology partner in the second. Both were selected under a joint funding initiative launched by the Luxembourg Ministries of Defence, Economy, and Research.
The two projects will develop new capabilities to strengthen the protection of critical communications and the security of space assets. Specifically, they will address everything from the detection of and automated response to interference affecting terrestrial, radio, and satellite networks, to the protection of strategic satellites through advanced space surveillance and defense technologies.
One of the projects, DEPCON (Defence Communications Protection), is led by Integrasys in collaboration with the Luxembourg Institute of Science and Technology (LIST). Its objective is to develop an intelligent system capable of automatically detecting and responding to threats affecting critical communications—an area of growing importance in today’s operational environments.
The second project, HYDRA, brings together LMO Space, Integrasys, and the Luxembourg Institute of Science and Technology (LIST) to develop technologies aimed at protecting strategic satellites in geostationary orbit. The project will combine optical and radio frequency sensors, onboard intelligent processing, and secure inter-satellite links to identify and respond in real time to threats such as electronic interference and hostile satellites.
With these awards, Integrasys further strengthens its position as one of Europe’s leading companies in the development of secure communications and space defense technologies. The projects reinforce the company’s expertise in satellite security, radio spectrum management, and the protection of critical infrastructure—capabilities regarded as strategic by Luxembourg, the European Union, and NATO.
The company participated in this funding call through its Luxembourg subsidiary, where it operates one of its five European Centers of Excellence. Integrasys also has specialized centers in the United Kingdom, France, Ukraine, and Germany, where it has recently expanded its presence.
According to Álvaro Sánchez, CEO of Integrasys:
“Being awarded these projects demonstrates our ability to develop cutting-edge technologies in collaboration with some of Europe’s leading research institutions. Initiatives like these enable us to accelerate innovation, expand our R&D capabilities, and contribute to strengthening the European defense ecosystem with advanced solutions that protect critical communications and space assets.”
